Bridgeport, W.Va. An $11 million infrastructure expansion project at Charles Pointe will help the city of Bridgeport and north central West Virginia attract tens of millions of dollars in future economic development, according to Jamie Corton of Genesis Partners, Limited Partnership - the developer of Charles Pointe.
State and local officials will come together at 1:00pm on Tuesday, July 9th for a groundbreaking ceremony announcing the extension of Haden Boulevard within the area of the development known as Charles Pointe Crossing. The groundbreaking will take place just south of Menards Super Center. Parking will be available at Menards.
The initial phase of the $11 million project is an extension of the four-lane main entrance into Charles Pointe Crossing (Haden Boulevard). The city of Bridgeport has approved and issued a
building permit for the $2.9 million initial phase of the project.
The $11 million project includes roadway and infrastructure extensions to support the new Mon Health-Harrison regional hospital as well as the next phase of development at Charles Pointe. That development includes 1,400 linear foot of four lane asphalt roadway, site grading, water main extension, storm water collection, signage, landscaping, street lighting, curbing, sidewalk, gas, electric, and telecommunications conduit. Wetland mitigation as well as erosion and sediment control measures are included in the project.
According to Jamie Corton, the $11 million infrastructure investment will ensure further development of the Charles Pointe Master Plan in accordance with the Charles Pointe Planned Unit Development (PUD) approved by the city of Bridgeport. The Charles Pointe development consists of approximately 1,700 acres.
The $11 million investment is financed by Clear Mountain Bank of Bridgeport and backed by the WV Economic Development Authority. The initial project was designed by Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. of Bridgeport.
