Bridgeport WV. Charles Pointe Hospitality (CPH) was created in 2005 as the Hospitality Operations and Development Company for Charles Pointe, a 1700-acre master planned community located in Bridgeport, WV.
The goal at Charles Pointe Hospitality has always been to provide exceptional hospitality experiences for our guests. The entire CPH team works closely together to generate a welcome sense of place that sustains our organization and generates goodwill, referrals and repeat business in the community they serve.
"We are a full-service hospitality company offering both asset and operations-based management opportunities," said Steve Ludwig, CPH's Director of Hospitality. "Our team of experienced professionals brings together years of experience in all aspects of hospitality and tourism. With experience from world class resorts, hotels, clubs, restaurants and conferencing facilities throughout the country, we now have more than 100 people employed at our three hospitality businesses."
With more than three decades of experience himself, Steve Ludwig leads CPH. The company currently manages the successful operations of Bridgeport Conference Center, Mia Margherita Coal Fired Pizzeria and Microtel Inn & Suites in Bridgeport.
“It has been very exciting to see our businesses making such a strong post-Covid rebound. We could not have achieved these results without the support of our employees and the community we serve," Ludwig said.
The Bridgeport Conference Center opened in April of 2006 and is a public-private partnership with the city of Bridgeport. It is a highly functional, upscale conference facility and hosts a wide variety of corporate, government and social events. Recent upgrades to the facility include a completely new sound system in the ballroom, high-definition projection capabilities, and enhanced wi-fi reception. Two new laser video projection units and HDMI cabling have been added to the Conference Suites. Bridgeport Conference Center enjoys a high level of guest satisfaction and recently welcomed Jena Liggett as the new General Manager.
Mia Margherita Coal Fired Pizzeria was created in 2013 at West Virginia’s first and only Coal Fired Pizzeria. The restaurant’s theme takes on the Italian Appalachian heritage prominently displayed in North Central West Virginia. Ludwig said that CPH's goal was to the celebrate the rich Italian history of pizza making which had its start originally fired by Coal.
While pizza is the namesake of Mia Margherita, one can find a variety of Italian pastas, salads, sandwiches, and other specialty entrees that complement the restaurant’s theme. The restaurant has expanded over the years to include a covered outdoor patio, a private dining room, and a retail market. USA Today and Trip Advisor magazine named Mia Margherita as having “The Best Pizza in West Virginia”. Mia consistently ranks as one of the top restaurants in North Central West Virginia by Yelp and Google reviewers. Hank Soutter is the General Manager and RJ Favro is Executive Chef of Mia Margherita.
The 86-room Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Bridgeport was opened in 2006 and was renovated in 2018. Consistently named a “Best of Microtel” property, it has been awarded the JD Power Guest Satisfaction Segment Ratings 15 out of the last 17 years. Regionally, Microtel is #1 among its competitive set and continues to drive value and appeal in the economy segment. Amber Crimm is the General Manager of the Microtel.
"Charles Pointe Hospitality is committed to future growth by building and operating successful hospitality ventures both from an independent as well as a franchise background. The future is bright at Charles Pointe," Ludwig said.
Charles Pointe is an award winning $1.5 billion state-of-the-art mixed-use community spanning over 1,700 acres in Bridgeport. The development combines commercial, residential, retail, and recreational opportunities into one community.
