For those visiting Bridgeport who have already sampled the city's fare or those who are residents of the city and beyond looking for a trip for a new culinary experience, here's a recent edition of WBOY's Restaurant Road Trip. This week, the restaurant in question is a still only a few months old and located right here in Bridgeport.
Mountain State Brewing Company tapped its first keg in 2005 and has since captured the taste buds of people across West Virginia.
"They are not coming out just to eat or just to drink, they are here for the whole thing," said Cato Caton, Mountain State Brewing Co. Bridgeport location's General Manager.
In 2005 Brian Arnett and Wille Lehman founded Mountain State Brewing Company in Tucker County.
"Right now they are the largest brewing company in West Virginia. Grow our own hops, we use as much local as we can. The water comes from the Mountains in Thomas, West Virginia that we make the beer with," said Caton.
Mountain State Brewing Company is quickly becoming a prized jewel when it comes to the food scene in Harrison County.
"They have expanded. We have a restaurant in Deep Creek, Maryland, Morgantown, West Virginia on the Wharf District and now our Bridgeport location in Harrison County."
Beer is definitely one of the specialties, including flagship beers from the Thomas Brewery.
Food, however, is the calling card in a family-friendly environment. The menu features hand-tossed wood-fired pizzas, a variety of sandwiches, salads, appetizers, desserts and so much more.
