Bridgeport's latest place to get something to satisfy your hunger opened its doors Friday and despite the product being offered, the manager there said things were busy and that she hopes it will get even better once the weather improves. On Friday, the Charles Pointe development officially welcomed its newest member – sweetFrog.

"We offer a premium frozen yogurt and we have 12 flavors available," said Manager Lisa Swecker, who is the daughter of the owner Richard Swecker. "You can make a combination of those flavors and you can add toppings to them as well."

The flavors vary but among the early choices are watermelon, island banana, cake batter, peanut butter, vanilla and more. There are also nearly 80 toppings to choose from all the way from cookie dough and sprinkles to gummy worms and hot fudge. Swecker said there are also sugar free products available.

After going through the main entrance of Charles Pointe off of Jerry Dove Drive/State Route 279, one needs to turn toward the Commons 1 building that is owned by Premier Commercial Real Estate Services. For those not sure what building that is, it is the same building that is home to Bridgeport Family Pharmacy and Mia Margherita among others.

"On our first day, especially considering the weather, we've had a lot of people come in," said Swecker. "We hope to see that increase. So far it's been pretty good."

The store is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. On Friday and Saturday it is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The store can be reached by calling 304-848-8000.

According to their Web site, the goal is to "create the best frozen yogurt experience you've ever had." Apparently, the experience is working. The company opened in 2009 but already has locations across the country, the Dominican Republic, the United Kingdom and will be opening locations in Egypt and the United Arab Emirates. The company says it is committed to local communities and that the F.R.O.G. in their name stands for "Fully Rely On God." The store states its commitment to communities can be witnessed on multiple levels, including fundraisers.

There are nearly half a dozen sweetFrog locations in West Virginia. The closest location is in Morgantown.
