Corton Receives Appointment To Kennedy Center

BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport’s Jennifer Compton Corton has been appointed by President George W. Bush to serve on the advisory committee of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.

Corton is managing partner of Genesis Partners.

Two residents of each state are appointed to the committee. Corton is joined by Huntington resident David Tyson.

The committee helps strengthen the center’s influence and spreads its artistic vision and educational programs across the country.

Corton has been instrumental in the development of Charles Pointe, a master-plan traditional neighborhood development being built in Bridgeport. She is the daughter of Mrs. Julia Compton and the late C.E. "Jim" Compton.

She and husband Jamie have one daughter.
