Hawthorn Suites plans to build an all-suites hotel at Charles Pointe, the community being developed in Bridgeport by Genesis Partners, the hotel company said.
Plans call for the $7 million hotel to have 87 studio and one-bedroom suites with kitchens and separate living, working, and sleeping areas.
"Hawthorn Suites’ parent company, US Franchise Systems, is a subsidiary of the Global Hyatt Corp., which operates hundreds of hotels worldwide," said James A. Corton, managing partner for Genesis Partners. "We are delighted to be host for a facility that is affiliated with the world-famous Hyatt hotel chain."
Construction is expected to begin early next year. The hotel will be the first Hawthorn Suites property in the state.
Corton said the extended stay all-suites hotel suite concept is becoming more popular. "People who are vacationing here, relocating to our area or doing ongoing business in north-central West Virginia often need a place to stay for an extended period of time. Whether they are visiting here for a few days or for a month, Hawthorn Suites will offer the comfort and value that they are looking for," Corton said.
CP Hospitality, a division of Genesis Partners, will manage the property.
"The Charles Pointe Hawthorn Suites will be located near the Bridgeport Conference Center, which also managed by CP Hospitality, Corton said.
The facility, he said, will complement the planned Lifestyle Center located at Charles Pointe North.
