BRIDGEPORT, WV -- On August 6th at 9:45 am, Governor Joe Manchin, III will join area residents and officials to open the gate to Charles Pointe, a new master planned community. This event will allow the public to ‘Tour the Pointe’ and see the design of a true live, work and play experience in a West Virginia setting.
"Charles Pointe delivers a clear message that West Virginia is indeed open for business. Charles Pointe is an innovative framework for a new economy for north central West Virginia," Manchin said.
The event is planned to give the public a preview of the Charles Pointe development which has moved from the planning stage to reality. It is located off the I-79 Jerry Dove Drive Exit - #124.
James A. Corton and his wife, Jennifer Compton Corton, are the primary force behind Genesis Partners, the developer of the 1,700 acres. Charles Pointe was their brainchild to create a place where people can live, work and play. The new community was named after Mrs. Corton’s father, the late Charles E. "Jim" Compton of Bridgeport.
"Governor Manchin’s participation is significant as we introduce Charles Pointe on August 6th. He is working hard for our State and we are delighted he places importance on the contribution Charles Pointe can make to the State’s economy," Corton said.
The event will be a family affair featuring tours of the site, lunch, entertainment, giveaways and special activities for the children. All activities are free and will conclude at 2 p.m.
