Microtel Inns & Suites has opened a newly-constructed hotel in the new master-planned community of Charles Pointe North, WV. Additional Microtel hotels in West Virginia are located in Beckley, South Charleston and Mineral Wells, and several more are in development.
"Microtel is proud to be part of the master-planned community philosophy and growth that guides Charles Pointe, and to bring a quality, affordable lodging choice to the area," said Mike Muir, senior vice president of franchise development for US Franchise Systems, Inc., parent company of the franchisor of the Microtel brand. "Business and leisure travelers alike will appreciate our new, comfortable accommodations with top-notch amenities."
James A. Corton, managing partner of Genesis Partners, developers of Charles Pointe, said that the new Microtel hotel complements other progress that the $1.2 billion master-planned community has recently experienced, and that residential properties, retail establishments, professional buildings, and cultural and recreational facilities will also be part of the development.
"The Bridgeport Conference Center (in Charles Pointe) is attracting conferences and conventions from around the state and beyond. Convenient, quality and affordable accommodations located adjacent to the facility is an added benefit to business people, as well as families coming `back home` for visits to north central West Virginia," said Corton.
The hotel is managed by CP Hospitality (which also manages the Bridgeport Conference Center), under the direction of Mike Hager, Charles Pointe`s director of resort & leisure services. Gabe Fiest, former executive director of the Greater Bridgeport Conference and Visitors Center, is General Manager.
